About Us

Swansea Trotters is the official alumni club for graduates of Swansea University’s Athletics, Cross Country & Triathlon Clubs. Founded in January 2012 Swansea Trotters was established as a means for graduates to reconnect with former teammates, organise reunion events, and as an outlet to keep in touch and provide a support network for the current University Teams.

Club President: Steven Jones

President-Steven Jones

Steven graduated in 2011 and followed on with a MA in Digital Media in 2012. During his time at the University he held committee roles as part of both teams, which included Club Secretary of Athletics and Cross Country (2010-2011) and Novice Captain of Triathlon (2011-2012). Steve coordinates the 360 Marina 5k and club events along with Richard in order to raise money for our chosen charity of the year and the University clubs.



Vice President: Richard Mann

Richard graduated from Swansea University in 2013 following the completion of his undergraduate degree in Sport & Exercise Science. During his time at Swansea University Richard held committee positions in the Athletics & Cross Country Club which included Cross Country Captain (2011 – 2012) and Club President (2012 – 2013).Rich is now an integral member of the Trotters committee, having been involved in the organisation of the 360 Marina 5k since its inception in 2013 and becoming a member of the committee following his graduation.


Graduate Liaison Officers: Amy Cooper & Sara Lee Powell
1463583_10209364192121552_3115073150790413865_nAmy and Sarah have been offered the role of Graduate Liaison Officers for the following year serving as the contact point between the Trotters and University teams, using his relationship with current students to insure that relations between the two groups remain strong.


Graduate Logistics Coordinator: Matthew Shepherd 
10435413_10152519943194357_300416897786997252_nFollowing Matthew’s successful stint as Graduate Liaison Officer in the 2015-2016 season, Shep has taken on the new role of Logisitics Coordinator. Making sure that our events and operations run smoothly, Matthew is the Seapigs safe pair of hands and the intermediary for the Liaison Officers.
